It is no secret that Emergency Departments (EDs) are volatile places. People from all walks of life pass through these departments with a variety of emergent ailments and bring their stress, anxiety and anger along with them.
Many patients arrive at the ED having the worst day of their lives. In this occupation, we all want to help the best we can, unfortunately, patients can be unpredictable due to their diagnosis, the loss of a loved one (grievance), or for a variety of other reasons. As administrators, having to update policy, review plans, implement training, and having to complete these tasks to meet deadlines, can be very overwhelming. Often times, we put more focus and effort on developing our Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and less focus and effort on putting that plan into action to identify weaknesses and gaps within our current plan. Additionally, how do we meet the daunting task of training our 100+ employees/staff? In most cases, we may lack experience in developing an effective training plan. B.E.C.O.N. can give you the guidance, tools and opportunity to train your staff. Our B.E.C.O.N. program gives you the ability to address these issues.
