“The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson County Local Emergency Planning Committee sponsored Friday’s session to keep the costs down for participants. Another session is planned for Aug. 17.
“I think it’s a great course,” Jenkins said shortly after being peppered with the stress balls. “I wish more people would come out to it. It’s something that can definitely be used for (schools) and businesses around the area.”
Jenkins, of Inwood, W.Va., works at Dalb Inc. in Kearneysville, W.Va.
“Our safety director came around and asked people if they were interested in taking the class,” he said. “I jumped right on it. I thought it was a great opportunity.”
