“Take a belt and tighten it on the hinge. They are not going to get through because it is not going to open,” according to Stanton.
To do so, the belt needs to be strategically placed on the door closer to avoid slipping off when opened. You may have to create a new hole where it is tight or wrap it around enough times to meet an existing belt hole. Paracord would also work, as it’s much stronger than a belt.
