“My laps are getting faster. I’m finding a rhythm and slowly starting to crack the track’s toughest stretch, a four-turn tangle that makes up the Carousel and a pair of esses. Apparently most racers consider turn five, a hard left-hander just before the Carousel, a throwaway. I can see why. It’s hard to hit the apex and keep any sort of speed while properly setting up for turn six, a quick right-hander. Still, I want to hit all the turns on this part of the course the best I can. On one lap I do, smoothly transitioning from one bend to the next until I’m shooting up the back straight at full blast. The engine’s bellow engulfs the cabin, and my adrenaline skyrockets. Few things in life feel this good.”
I think we all know that feeling. We’ll be looking forward to having our friends at Road & Track and Andrew back on our other circuits.
